Every international student wishing to head out to or work in Australia must have suitable health policy to cover the duration of their stay. Overseas Visa Health Cover, generally known as the OVHC is the medical insurance that satisfies the requirement.
A lot of visa categories are covered by this policy such as visitor visas (subclasses 300, 580, 590, 600, 601), bridging visas, working visas (subclasses 482, 485, 400,401, 476, 489, etc) and working holiday visas (subclasses 417 & 462).
"Recent international graduates who are now applying for Temporary Graduate Visa (Subclass 485), You will have to change your OHSC to OVSC as per the visa requirements. OHSC have different health policy types which can been chosen which is totally dependent upon every individual applicant i.e. Single policy for single applicant couple policy for couples and family cover to include your partner and children under 18 years of age. The cost differs upon the arrangement type, the duration of the visa just as the insurance provider.
In spite of this,, not at all like the OSHC policies where you have to pre-buy your policy for the entire duration of stay, the OVHC spread expenses can be paid on a month to month premise."
